Enniv Zarf Improvisations

Enniv played a wonderful set of improvisations to my SL photographs on display at PK Works Gallery on December 13th.

You can listen to the concert via the podcast.

Black Swan Glamour

I experimented with studio lights for this shot. This dress is absolutely beautiful. It is the Black Swan inspired dress from Haute Style & Co. I am also wearing the Fleur’s Black Swan #3 skin. I feel so glamorous.

Spontaneous photoshoot

America Mertel 3, originally uploaded by Verde O.

I was helping my sister, Katana Tigerpaw, take a photo for her entry in the La Palmita photo content. America was also there and when she saw my camera (a fabulous gift from Katana) she asked me to take her picture. So we had a spontaneous photoshoot on the beach. I forgot to change my graphics settings but I think they turned out ok (with some help from photoshop).

Admiration, originally uploaded by Verde O.

Yesterday I attended the opening of the Virtual Art Gallery featuring work by Indy Lockjaw and Bavometh Beurling (Isla del Sol 28, 189, 21). Lockjaw’s male nudes were at times striking. Beurling focused on portraits of avatars at the club Kromatic. Some of those shots caught my eye as well. Both artist have books of their work for sale at very reasonable prices (less than L$100).

Updates on Flickr

Silent Self, originally uploaded by Verde O.

I am slowing getting all my work added to flickr and getting portfolios organized there. This shot is one of my all time favorites. I took it in the attic of Kyoot’s store on Silent. The whole sim is a great place for photography.

I saw this and perked right up. I have been feeling a bit frustrated with SL today. I have been working on my house forever and the doors still open into the wall. My poses are terrible, my photoshop skills are developing at a snail’s pace and the In-World Institute of Photography collapsed taking my whole library with it. It is good to be reminded of how far I have come and even if I am just a few steps beyond Ruth and plywood boxes, it is progress.

In the city

In the city, originally uploaded by Verde O.

I spent a while in the photostudio taking pictures of this dress for eLDee’s contest. But it took me too long to process them, so I missed the deadline. Oh well, it was fun and I learned more photoshop tricks. I got tired of being in the studio so I went to the New York City sim to stretch my legs.

I am working on updating this blog and posting more often.

Shiny Red Vinyl

Shiny Red Vinyl, originally uploaded by Verde O.

This red vinyl (vinil) jacket from MG Fashion starts and ends this outfit. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I also have my eye on this jacket in blue and you will no doubt see me in it soon. I love the shininess, the buttons and the color. In creating this outfit, I wanted to dress it down just a bit so I paired it with my favorite black jeans from PixelDolls and my brand new red Dune boots (Maitreya). The jacket is short and I didn’t want my belly to show in January so I chose this nice sweater I just picked up from PERSONA at her sale. The bottom part of the sweater is on the pants layer. Since I wanted the focus of the outfit to be on the jacket I chose simple hoop earrings and a subdued hairstyle.

Wearing:

Skin:  Pure (Ether – Nothing) from DN Vogue
Eyes: Holly (Big) from Miriel
Hair: Airy – Smoke from ETD
Jacket: London Calling – Vinil Jacket – deep red from MG fashion
Shirt:  Furry sweater – white (shirt and pants layer) PERSONA
Jeans-: Noir Luxe Jeans underpant layer from PixelDolls
Boots – Dune Red from Maitreya
Earrings – Ladys’ Hoop, Sliver/Stud M from EARTHTONES boutique
Manicure – 06 from RaC

Treehouse by the sea

Treehouse_sunset, originally uploaded by Verde O.

I thought I would post about my home. Although fashion and shopping takes up most of my time, I do love home decorating and gardening as well. I currently live in a treehouse with an ocean view. I don’t have much furniture yet, I have been trying to find low prim furniture that fits the country tree house theme and haven’t been very successful. If you have any ideas, comment away. I will post pictures of the beach and decks in another post.
